5 Ways to Enhance Your Curb Appeal This Spring

Looking for some ways to refresh your curb appeal this spring? The first impression of your home gives a great neighborly vibe. You don’t have to be selling to give your front yard a fresh and easy update!

We call it curb appeal, because it is the first impression a buyer will make when they first pull up from the home. I can’t tell you the number of times buyers say “Noo! Next!” based on that first impression from the car. But your friends and neighbors all judge based on curb appeal too.

I know doing a big project isn’t always fun – so I’ve outlined 5 small projects you could do this spring to enhance your curb appeal. You choose whether to do one or do them all. I’m curious to see what you decide to do!

Create a seating space

Choose a little bistro set or even a lovely bench flanked by flowers. Adding a bit of seating makes your front home a more lovely space. Whether you want to visit with friend or watch a sunny morning sunrise. Make your own spot to enjoy your front yard and visit with neighbourhoods.

Edmonton paint your front door

Paint Your Front Door

This little project can have big impact. Paint your door with a bright color, a contrasting color or just simply give it a fresh coat. Our front doors often get beaten by weather, and grocery bags and finger prints. A little love can brighten your home and give it a fresh feel.

Update Your Home Numbers

Have you actually looked at your home numbers lately? Is paint chipping, do delivery drivers complain they are hard to see at night? Either taking them off and giving them a good coat of paint or getting new and larger ones could really enhance the look of the front of your home. As well as making it easier for emergency services to respond if ever needed.

Creative Flower Beds

Even if you are not into crawling on the ground tending to flower beds, get creative with unique containers. You can have raised planters or window boxes on your front railing. I’ve seen an old bicycle painted white with it’s basket overflowing with flowers. Use luggage or old wash basins or old trunks or other items of interest to you. You can make them feel classy while creating a unique item of interest to your front yard.

Change Lighting and Hardware

Whether you take off lights, mailbox and door knobs and refinish them, or replace them is your choice. But here a little refreshing or change in style can help freshen up the overall look of your home. Go from white to matte black, or change the accessories completely. You’ll be surprised how big of an impact you can make from these tiny changes.

These simple projects or changes can give a striking refresh to your front yard. Your curb appeal is the first impression anyone makes related to your home, whether visitors or future buyers. Putting in a little effort can make you feel energized about your home again.
