These Family Caregiver Workshops are ready to get started this month. I’ve been delighted and honored to be part of the team of professionals to give feedback to the development of this caregiver program. Now family members, spouses and friends who are caregivers, can gain the confidence to safely look after their loved ones in the home.
Workshops are 2-2.5 hours and include class time, hands-on training and an live scenario related to the workshop topic. These caregiver classes are held at the Norquest College Campus downtown. For just $35, you will receive online videos and registration for one of the following workshops:
· Assisting with Mobility-Safe Practices
· Mealtime and Medication Assistance
· Assisting with Personal and Intimate Care

What to Expect
Each class is 2-2.5 hours and includes either morning or evening start times to suit your schedule. Course registration fee is $35 (+GST).
Class lecture (1 hour) – Covering tips and tricks, how to check the health status of your loved one, resources and tools, hands on training with a partner (if applicable)
Live Experience (1-1.5 hours) – Experience a staged scenario that a caregiver may experience while looking after a loved one. Learn to go through the decision making plan to figure out next steps in care.
Workshop registration includes: Information guide and resources to take home and access to quick videos for just in time learning

Gain experience in providing personal care for oral health, bathing, dressing, and incontinence
Assisting with Mobility-Safe Practices – Tues Jan 28 – choose 5:00pm or 7:30pm
Learn safe body mechanic techniques for assisting with movement in the home environment
