How to Dispose of a Body in Alberta: a departure planning discussion

October 15 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Burial? Cremation? Other?! This talk will get to the bottom of some grave decisions to be made when dealing with real live dead people.

Let’s be clear right off the bat, this is not a talk to help you get away with (literal) murder. This discussion is about how to plan for your own (or someone else’s) inevitable demise so the person left behind knows your wishes.

Come and learn about some of the decisions that could be made about your final departure … before they have to be made. Plus learn about some interesting things you could do (legally) with mortal remains, so you can leave behind an interesting story. And who doesn’t love a good story!

Gina Vliet is a change specialist focused on death education. She is the founder of Charon Consulting, based in Edmonton, Alberta, is Canadian certified as an Executor Advisor and formerly a licensed Funeral Services Preplanner.

Gina is known for her practical but fun approach to learning. She has been a guest on CBC Radioactive addressing topics related to death & dying and has hosted over 60 Death Cafés since 2018. She facilitates workshops and speaks publicly on a variety of things, but her favourites are departure planning and executorship.

Bring your questions and your curiosity to this informative talk, just in time for the spooky season.
