Making a respite plan is essential for spouse and family care partners. It is important you plan how you will use respite time and respite services BEFORE you need them.
This worksheet will allow you to plan respite supports for short term respite or longer respite needed. The second page lists 100 ways you can take a break from your caregiving activities. Sometimes when we are sleep deprived, stressed or just feeling like we can’t cope – coming up with something to do when a respite worker is watching your loved one is just too hard to do. Keep this list handy to find some easy or cost effective ways you can use the respite breaks you get.
